In short
A family vineyard, the "Domaine Barge" (Barge estate) currently owns 6.5 hectares of Côte-Rôtie, 1.2 hectares of Condrieu, and 1.4 Hectares of St Joseph.
Winegrowers since 1860, generations of the Barge family form an unbroken line of winemakers that continues to this day.
Their winemaking passion and expertise is handed down from father to son, and now Gilles will pass the family vineyard on to Julien. They work together to create wines that combine a respect for tradition with contemporary taste.
Three Côte-Rôtie vintages, each a reflection of their terroir and personality: Cuvée du Plessy mainly on the Côte Blond, and Le Combard and La Côte Brune.
Three parcels produce a richly fragranced Condrieu, as well as a Saint Joseph Red, Le Clos des Martinets, that is a pure expression of the Syrah grape. The Domaine Barge currently owns 6.5 hectares of Côte-Rôtie, 1.2 hectares of Condrieu, and 1.4 Hectares of St Joseph.
